Looking for a Study Break:
Check Out Our New Vending Machine:
Located in the basement of the
new Graduate Center, UGC’s first ever vending machine is as state of the art as
the building’s architecture.
Containing cold drinks, candy,
snacks, and even heat ‘n eat meals, the all-in-one vending machine has
everything you could possibly want (with the exception of an endive salad or calamari,
perhaps).
Looking for Dinty Moore Beef Stew?
We’ve got it. Mac ‘n Cheese? Yes, sir, it’s all yours with for some spare
change. Along with other microwaveable meals like several Campbell’s Soup at
Hand selections, the vending machine also has staple snacks like peanut butter
crackers, Doritos, pretzels and Snickers bars (because if you’re hungry—why
wait?).
As for drinks, there’s a wide
selection of diet and regular sodas, Snapple, and caffeinated energy drinks for
those that need to cram for the big test. All items are reasonably priced
(nothing exceeds $1.50).
A microwave will soon be
available for student use in the basement. Public microwaves are also available
for use in the atrium on the first floor next to the coffee machine and in the
kitchen on the second floor.

Cookin' Up Success with John
Stage of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que
When: Thursday,
November 12, 2009
Time: 11:30
a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Where: Italian
American Community Center, 257 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 11205
Cost: $25 for

What At its
November 12 luncheon, the New York Capital Region Chapter of the American
Marketing Association proudly
welcomes John Stage, founder, president and CEO of the wildly successful
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. With restaurants in Syracuse, Rochester and New York City's
Harlem, Stage is expanding his enterprise with a fourth restaurant in the
Capital Region. He plans to convert the former Fresno's restaurant in Troy in
time to open a Dinosaur by next spring.
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que kicked into
gear in 1983 when Stage, a Harley-loving biker with a taste for barbecue, took
to the road cooking sandwiches on a sawed-in-half 55-gallon drum at "biker
gigs" up and down the East Coast. Stage sampled world-class barbecue in
Virginia, Texas, North Carolina, and Memphis, soaking up "the Southern
barbecue vibe" (and picking up Creole, Asian, and Cuban influences along
the way) before setting up shop in Syracuse, New York, in 1988.
Out in front of the
"genuine honky-tonk rib joint," a row of gleaming Harleys stand at
attention, and inside, a sassy, ready-to-bust-your-chops wait staff cuts
through the eclectic crowd of bikers, students, suits, and blues lovers
(there's live music almost nightly). The Dinosaur serves up nationally
acclaimed fare including racks of ribs, Texas Beef Brisket, and Honey Hush Corn
Bread. In addition to its restaurants, the Dinosaur boasts a busy catering
business. They also manufacture and distribute five of their own specialty
sauces throughout the U.S., England and Australia - as well as rubs, clothing
and apparel, books and other merchandise.
Come find out how John Stage
turned a love of barbecue, blues and bikes into a legend - and get a sneak peek
at his plans for the new Capital Region restaurant!
Register online, where you can
prepay by credit or debit card, at http://www.nymarketing.org/.
