What this Union Graduate College MBA Degree Program Entails
The design and delivery of this graduate curriculum introduces the student to core business disciplines; the building of logical reasoning skills combined with computer, communication, and people skills; while developing an ethical, technologically savvy, business perspective for practical decision-making in the real-world.
MBA in Healthcare Management Core Courses
This Master of Business Administration degree program of study provides the same solid foundation in all aspects of business administration including Probability, Statistics, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Finance, Economics, Marketing, Operations Management, Managing People, Strategic Use of Information Technology and Business Law as Union Graduate College’s MBA proram. MBA in Healthcare Management program also includes study in Introduction to Health Systems and Health Systems Management.
MBA study beyond Core Courses
Union Graduate College allows the MBA student to tailor the program to his or her individual interests with a specific focus on Finance, Economics, Marketing, Operations, General Management, Human Resource Management or Global Business.
Three Additional Electives Courses are chosen by the student the list of traditional MBA electives and two health electives; Management of Long-Term Care and Group Practice Management
Capstone
is typically the last course the students take in the MBA in Healthcare Management degree program and is intended to integrate all the courses studied throughout the MBA program. The principle activity in this course is the analysis of case studies in relationship to the strategic realignment required by health service organizations, aided by the guidance of a variety of expert practitioners in today’s ever-changing healthcare environment.
MBA in Healthcare Management Program Course Requirements
- 20 Total Graduate Courses
- 10 Required Core Courses
- 7 Required Advanced Courses
- 3 Elective Advanced Courses
- The Capstone course is typically the last class taken in the MBA program.
- 12 of the 20 required courses to earn this MBA degree must be completed at Union Graduate College
- a maximum of 8 combined approved waivers and course transfers from other colleges and universities are allowed.
- An internship of 400 hours or relevant business experience is required for full-time matriculated students. This is not considered one of the 20 courses.
